Dallas Theological Seminary
DTS is an evangelical theological seminary in Dallas, Texas. In addition to being a fully fledged university, they also offer a robust catalogue of free online courses that go in depth on the Bible and other Christian-based teachings. I was initially asked to update their first course, “The Life of Christ” in 2018.
Below is what DTS had previously been using for the course, followed by my updated creative.
In designing this new look, I found it important to relay the religious significance of the course content. As exemplified above, the old imagery was mostly paintings depicting important scenes or ideals that had to do with the course. I wanted to mimic this look, but with a more updated design. I settled on using two of their brand colors and stained glass windows as the imagery - because the natural contrast of these windows would offer a more updated “blocked” look as well as show off DTS’ color scheme.
My solution was popular and I have since updated all 19 of their courses which can be found on their website here: https://courses.dts.edu
Each build contains about 11 pieces of creative that is featured on the DTS website and each course’s Facebook page and Youtube video.
